Basic Food helps people buy groceries. The amount of Basic Food you can receive is based on your family size, countable income and monthly expenses such as housing, utilities, child support and medical costs.
When you get Basic Food you may qualify for other programs, too:

Most states allow online applications for EBT Cards through the application for Food Stamps (SNAP Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) or cash benefits through Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). After applying for your benefits you will most likely need to come in for an interview at this or another local social service office.
